Rob Kerby

Experienced. Dedicated. Attentive.

Robert Kerby, FRICS

Robert spent eleven years with major contractors on challenging and varied work ranging from health centres through gas distribution, major public buildings and industrial plant to major highway construction, during which time he qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors (1979) and became ARICS in 1983. During this period he worked mainly as a project QS but also as an estimator and site manager, and dealt with traditional, design-and-build, management fee and civils contracts.

In 1987 Robert moved into professional practice, initially with Symonds in Cardiff and later with Bucknall Austin, working on a wide spectrum of commercial development but notably as Superintending Officer on the Patent Office in Newport (value £16m in 1989) and in quality assurance on the MOD (PE) Co-location project at Abbey Wood, Filton (£150m in 1992). He became a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1992.

Robert joined Colin Moseley Partnership in 1993 and ran the Newport office, before moving up to Managing Director in 1995. He retains a ‘hands-on’ role in the practice as Project Manager, Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor, Tenant’s Advisor and occasionally Expert Witness.

Recent commissions include high quality new-build houses, a museum extension, a private hospital, fitting out distribution warehouses, office extensions, yard paving, fire insurance valuations, and the evaluation and execution of commercial dilapidations work.

He has 36 years of experience in the construction and property industries
